The University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, has suspended a lecturer who was arrested for allegedly impregnating one of the female students.

A senior lecturer at the Department of Archeology and tourism, Dr. Chigozie Odum, who was accused has been arrested by the Nigeria police for allegedly impregnating a female student and for threaten her aggresively.

The lecturer in question, Dr. Odum, who allegedly put the female student, Onah Chinyere in a family way after he has successfully lured her into sexual intercourse.

According to the appeal from the family lawyer of the student, men of the Crack Squad, Enugu State Police Command has picked up the lecturer in Nsukka from where he was transferred to Enugu.

The lecturer has been put to suspension effectively, A written letter obtained to the immediate effect, on February 15, 2021 was signed and approved by Mrs. Achiuwa F.C, The Deputy Registrar of the University Of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

In the suspension letter gotten from the Authority, the lecturer was ordered to stay away from his duties for the main time, until the final conclusion of the full investigation and Monument is issued by the management on the Case.

In other hand, he has also been placed on half salary during the period of the investigation.

The husband and wife had an Adornment of domestic issues, Unfortunately the wife slumped during the process and injured her head which resulted to her untimely death – The issue is already transferred to the Nigeria police quarters for genuine research.

From the statement signed and presented by the Police command’s spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on February 17, being Wednesday, The tragedy happened exactly on the night of Tuesday, being February 16.

Africvibes Report gathers that the murdered victim had involved herself in hot quarrel with the man on so many matrimonial issues and during the process, she slumped and injured her head severely.

Instead of the man trying his best possible to rushing his wife to the hospital for immediate treatment, he allegedly refused to do the right thing while the wife died in the pool of her blood. The police has arrested the murderer and the corpse was evacuated to the mortuary.

Speaking on the occurrence, Lagos state Nigeria police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, Cinderella condemned the action and promised to involve other relevant government bodies and other agencies to resolve domestic violence other related issues in the state. Odumosu has finally made a command that the issue be transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SVID), Panti, Yaba, for genuine investigation.
